Important results from the project

Testarena Trygghetsskapande Teknologier focused on testing digital solutions in public spaces to enhance security. Various stakeholders recognized the need for collaboration rather than working in isolation. By bringing together end-users, researchers, and technology providers, solutions were tested, experiences exchanged, and insights gained on the readiness of these technologies and how to implement them. The next step is to scale and disseminate the results, making it easier for more organizations to adopt IoT solutions.

Expected long term effects

Testarena Trygghetsskapande Teknologier aimed to test digital solutions in public spaces to enhance security. Several stakeholders recognized the need for collaboration rather than working in isolation. Through cooperation between end-users, researchers, and technology providers, solutions were tested, experiences shared, and insights gained on the maturity and implementation of the technologies. The results will be scaled up and disseminated, making it easier for more actors to adopt IoT solutions.

Approach and implementation

The implementation of security-enhancing technology in cities requires careful planning to ensure increased safety without compromising privacy or causing negative effects. Recommendations from the completed project include a thorough needs analysis using existing data sources, tailoring measures to different target groups, and evaluating the technology against other solutions. Engaging in dialogue with residents is crucial for building trust, and data protection as well as ethical considerations must be prioritized to maintain a balance between security and privacy.
