Important results from the project

Purpose was to develop, test and verify new cooperation, the embryo of "ecosystem-based platform value systems" for delivery of heating and cooling to buildings. Technology suppliers have also increased cooperation, complementing each other in system delivery capabilities, especially for increased exports. Initial confirmation of innovation theory shows that diversity produces more extensive (system) innovation. Main goals, prototypes and feasibility studies, have been achieved. Actor interaction have been done in the two demonstrators in Helsingborg and Mölndal.

Expected long term effects

The results reach goals and planned activities. Research article about to be published. The results provide expected effects, plus more as a result of additional activities. Export activities greatly exceed our expectations, expected impact. The platform provides sustainable heating and cooling to residents. Waste heat can be circularly recycled over entire urban areas, with less electricity consumption. The district heating supplier gets a more flexible energy customer, who can store heat energy and who is satisfied with the delivery of low temperature on the district heating.

Approach and implementation

The design of TermoNet has been based on a structured generic working method: 1) Preliminary study, 2) Design/development, 3) Installation/implementation/test, 4) Evaluation. The working method has been used in 7 work packages (AP): AP1 Adm, management, communication, AP2 Demosite Helsingborg, AP3 Demosite Mölndal, AP4 Development of prototypes and/or feasibility studies, AP5 Innovation research linked to AP2, AP3, AP4, AP6. AP6 Equality analysis & measures (diversity, diversity), AP7 Export promotion. Setup and implementation have worked well.
