Important results from the project

Techgården is an initative for providing tech activities to youth and young adults in Tensta/Järva with the purpose of enhancing the outlook/prospect of the individual and contributing to a meaningful life/leisure time. The purpose of this pre-study was to investigate the pre-existing conditions and pave the way for the project. The goal was to get a basis for decision-making and assess the viability of the idea, and write a project plan for the work onward, which has been accomplished.

Expected long term effects

With the completion of the pre-study we find that the work has resulted in local support for the project, interest, partners, team, a physical space and a project plan for the future. The work with initiating a performance measurement has started, in order to be able to evaluate the effects on the target group (youth and young adults) and the local community for the coming years.

Approach and implementation

The project is a part of the collaboration platform Digital Demo Stockholm. Design thinking has been applied in the pre-study when interviewing, observing and visualizing - with the support of OpenLab. Dialogues/interaction have during the spring mostly been in the form of informal conversations in natural settings/meeting places such as cafés and libraries. Study visits have been conducted at a variety of selected places which has contributed to learning, inspiration as well as partnerships.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
