Important results from the project
The project tools and templates for publishing open municipal data aimed to develop basic support for local government working to make information available as open data. The project has produced eight different guiding documents that, in parts, have been tested in different contexts by both municipalities and government agencies.
Expected long term effects
We hope that the products we have developed will provide support to local governments in their work with open data. Everything from designating who should be responsible for the work to make decisions about fees and conditions, inventory, calculate the costs and benefits that are available to publish a data set and describe the data sets that municipality or county council makes available for re-use.
Approach and implementation
The project has had many work streams that has complicated the work. Together with the ambition to involve many stakeholders in the dialogue on the development of the project products, it has created a complexity. Gradually, the ambition to work with a broad set of stakeholders has been reduced in order to be able to deliver the tools and guidance that project intended to do. Instead the products have been tested and adjusted after being published in a draft version.
