Purpose and goal
The project concerns the creation of spaces for learning in a forest. Through the process we will work together with a school and develop an outdoor pedagogy. We will also explore the importance of environments for learning. Another part of the project is about developing methods where storytelling, imagination and fiction are part of a relational and spatial design process.
The goal is structure / spatialities in the forest, together with an outdoor pedagogy.
Expected effects and result
That the constructed designs have created situations for learning and wonder. Expected effects are also that the process has contributed to strengthening the current school and its surroundings through the opportunity to develop outdoor pedagogy, and through the new designs in the public space.
Planned approach and implementation
The work will take place on site in Svappavaara and digitally. When we are on site, we will work 1:1 in Skolskogen. One method in the process is the fictional character Djurmänniskan, which we will explore in dialogue with Skolskogen and the school´s students. Other methods in the design process will be to work physically and together with the location Skolskogen.
The plan is to work out a 1:1 proposal before the summer holidays and then start a construction process in early autumn.
