Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose was to evaluate and implement a solution for distance-based examination, monitoring and individualized training for people with neck pain with the goal of creating more effective treatment and increased accessibility, e.g. in the event of a pandemic. The method works well for both physiotherapists and patients. The results indicate that precise objective measurements of movement function with VR technology facilitate individualized treatment, even remotely, which reduces the need for personal visits to health care.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Results of training and feedback from patients have been so positive that the project has resulted in Curest broadening its business and now offers rehabilitation with VR remotely, directly to patients with our own physiotherapists. We generally expect more effective rehabilitation in the case of neck pain (better precision) and at the same time reduced need for physical visits to health care. New ways of working and the possibility of going directly to the patient with new treatment methods are direct outcomes of the project.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** More than 40 patients have trained with CurestVR during the project, the majority of which remotely where it was performed at home with support and adaptation by a physiotherapist based on results and progression. The result has been evaluated quantitatively, such as the measurement accuracy of the sensors, amount of training, progression and effects of the training. Both physical therapists and patients have been interviewed regarding their experiences using CurestVR. All patients who exercised have improved mobility and experience less pain.
