Purpose and goal

The project will develop "TED, Tactical Edge Demo", a demonstrator for tactical data transfer, Data Centric Security (DCS), and data storage and transfer within edge networks. TED aims to address key NATO challenges by: A) Supporting the transition to DCS, NATO DEFP, and principles like Zero Trust, B) Enhancing tactical capability in next-generation communication networks, and C) Promoting collaboration and interoperability between military and civilian systems.

Expected effects and result

Expected outcome is a demonstrator for Data Centric Security (DCS) and secure transfer in edge networks. TED enables tactical cloud services for MIL/MIL and MIL/CIV use, promoting interoperability between military and civilian systems. It supports NATO and the Swedish Armed Forces´ digital transformation. Effects include enhanced tactical capabilities true to DCS principles, improved collaboration, lower integration costs, and new market opportunities for Swedish companies in the defence sector.

Planned approach and implementation

TED will develop a comprehensive system architecture based on needs from CWIX24 and ongoing transformation, in close dialogue with stakeholders. The platform will offer API support, e-Delivery, and extensions for MIL/CIV integration. The demonstrator will be implemented through iterative development and testing. Demonstrations will be held with the armed Forces, FMV, and civilian stakeholders to reach relevant decision-makers.
