Important results from the project
The project aims to contribute to an improved understanding of the opportunities to implement innovations in complex products by decision making and strategic evaluation. The research has increased the understanding of the barriers that exist for implementation of new technologies in future products but also what makes an implementation possible.
Expected long term effects
Through an increased understanding of the conditions and constraints that apply to the development and implementation of new technologies it is expected that the opportunities for the automotive industry to introduce products with new technologies could be improved. This is particularly important given the increasing environmental requirements that apply to this industry.
Approach and implementation
The project was conducted as a doctoral project completed with dissertation and a doctoral thesis as the final result. Qualitative studies were conducted in the automotive industry including the lightweight project SåNätt. The studies included interviews, workshops and seminars
