Important results from the project

The goal of this social innovation (as formulated in the application) is to create improved conditions for increased physical activity and well-being among children in school through technical solutions. The innovation in step 1 consists of investigating what is already used today, what could be used, what motivates the movement. The approach for this would be workshops, practical applications, interview studies with target groups (teachers, educators and to some extent parents) and end users (students, young people).

Expected long term effects

The result has been successful if one starts from seeing this as a mapping of the current situation and current research on the subject. Through workshops, interviews and practical prototypes, the project has identified a number of different factors that describe the problems, opportunities and challenges that exist when using new technology to support increased mobility among schoolchildren.

Approach and implementation

The aim has been to create a picture of needs, opportunities and challenges when it comes to achieving the project´s objectives. To do this, we have conducted a number of workshops: teachers and leisure educators, students in the lower town, middle school students, researchers from various disciplines (design, technology and preventive health), staff from SISU & Vbtn Idrottsförbund. In addition, the project received survey responses from PE teachers where they give their views on technology use in teaching and finally results have been reported at two different conferences.
