Important results from the project
Taktibot has researched options and obstacles to introducing smart textiles as a technology to be used in an innovative way and simplify interaction between robots and humans. Within the project consortium have different applications, technology maturity and possibilities for implementation been discussed. The result of the project is a larger application with a focus on facilitating production preparation and implementation of new technologies such as smart textiles, with the support of design automation.
Expected long term effects
Several: industrial players interested in taking advantage of smart textiles, academic actors with the skills to develop solutions for implementations of such technology, and a number of applications where the technology can be used to increase industrial productivity and reduce ergonomic problems have been identified. The resulting ADAPT application is expected to increase efficiency when preparing production using new digital technologies as smart textiles, which in turn is expected to facilitate practical industrial implementation of smart textile technology.
Approach and implementation
Regular project meetings were held to identify industrial needs, additional applications and potential for project funding, and to formulate development plans. It was noted that the technological maturity level of smart textiles in industrial applications is low. The industry´s need for relatively rapid productivity effects required that smart textiles needed to be placed in a larger context to stimulate adequate industrial funding support. The realization that effective production preparation will be a key for practical implementation was the solution
