Purpose and goal

The purpose of the TACO project was to study the digital maturity of the participating companies and to reduce the cognitive workload for shop-floor oeprators through more effective information sharing using digital work instructions. The goal of the project was to increase digital maturity in industry, reduced cognitive workload for shop-floor operator and increased product quality.

Expected effects and result

Eight digital maturity assessment were carried out within the TACO project, which contributes to increased knowledge about Swedish industry´s transformation towards Industry 4.0. Furthermore, the four company cases developed new concepts for digital information support for Operator 4.0.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was carried out in three main work packages with different focus areas: Work package 1: Digitalization Method: Application of a model to assess digital maturity, with a focus on the sharing of data, information, and knowledge. Analyses using the model created an understanding of the digital maturity in four main areas (resources, information systems, organizational structure, and culture). Work package 2: Sharing Method: Development of digital instructions together in the cases. Work package 3: Design Method: Heuristic evaluations.
