Important results from the project
The STEP project intended to analyze the conditions for a number of major Swedish industrial players to cooperate in a new, innovative way for future procurements of transport solutions in a global market, while at the same time of course, not violating any current competition laws. The project clearly pointed out the importance of a collaborative approach to address these types of major procurements, as well as the value of including an essential element of innovation in this process; and the parties fully agree on the value of continuing the cooperation beyond the project.
Expected long term effects
The hypothetical joint approach to potential, future procurements of a sustainable transport system was considered by all parties to be very promising. Many new contacts between the respective specialists were also created, which will be useful in the future.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in the form of five workshops, which resulted in a system sketch for how the parties could combine their respective offers in a special transport application within a port environment.
