Important results from the project
The project has met its goals. The project´s most important goal was to increase collaboration between academia, business, healthcare and patients and to increase internationalization and patient involvement in all Swelife´s projects. Activities carried out have increased collaboration between sectors, regions and actors, have made Swedish life science visible internationally, contributed to strategic projects having applied, and being granted, international follow-up funding, and stimulated patient involvement at various levels.
Expected long term effects
The project has conducted collaboration meetings that lead to increased coordination of life science in Sweden. The project has contributed to increased internationalization by enabling several Swelife projects to participate in major international partnership meetings, and by supporting Swedish actors who have applied for EU funding based on Swelife´s strategic projects. The project has contributed to the work aiming to establish the national platform EUPATI Sweden, which in the long run will increase patient involvement in innovation work.
Approach and implementation
The project´s digital transition as a result of covid-19 worked well. The digital annual program conference for strategic innovation programs conducted together with Medtech4Health resulted in record high participation and increased collaboration between the programs both before and after the conference. The developed model for increased participation in Horizon Europe works well and has led to several strategic projects having applied, or planning to apply, for European funding. Collaboration with patient associations regarding establishment of EUPATI Sweden worked well.
