Swedish GovTech Gateway

Purpose and goal

Projektet Swedish GovTech Gateway will open doors for Swedish startups to enter the Nordic public market, and for Nordic startups to reach the Swedish public sector. The goal is to strengthen Sweden´s public sector´s ability to collaborate with innovative startups and share experiences regarding pre-commercial procurement between Sweden, Finland and Iceland. The project will provide tools for independent work with market dialogue and procurement towards startups.

Expected effects and result

Expected result is that we provide 2-4 public units with enough knowledge, tools and opportunities to exchange experience with other Swedish and Nordic public businesses so that they can work independently with market dialogue and pre-commercial procurement towards startups and that the project works together with the participants to find new practices to simplify the procurement procedure in the Nordic context.

Planned approach and implementation

We will work individually with innovation management in each public department to raise awareness and processes for collaboration with startups. A digital matching event is held where the participants meet handpicked startups. An innovation day in Uppsala in September, a earning trips to Iceland in May and Finland in November for roundtable discussions and meetings with Nordic startups. Digital exchanges of experience and publication on the Nordic GovTech Alliance portal to spread insights.
