Important results from the project

One main aim was to affect the H2020 system to secure that Swedish R&I prioritizations were considered. This required that prioritizations were identified, a task planned in the project, but was taken on by the new Sweden Food Arena. The project has facilitated a continued Swedish engagement in EC, but not increased it. We have contacted groups in the Nordic countries and the new Food KIC. No joint efforts in advocacy work was started. The second main aim was to increase Swedish participation in H2020 by information and support. We continuously informed business and academia on H2020.

Expected long term effects

The most important result was that we identified more Swedish participants in H2020. This opens up for increased participation in the future, since active organisations tend to continue and is also an inspiration for others. We managed to continue engagement in advocacy forums at EU level, which is valuable for future impact. The strengthened Swedish networks and to some extent Nordic and EU networks can be more efficiently used based on the R&I agenda develop by tha Swedish Food Arena.

Approach and implementation

The project plan had to be significantly changed due to the start of Sweden Food Arena. Our ambition was to identify Swedish R&I priorities, a task taken in by the Arena. This took longer time, hence there were no updated priorities to communicate to the EC until late in the project. The projet was complicated to run. Many organisations were active, nationally as well as internationally, with different agendas. The launch of the Swedish Food Strategy occupied a lot of attention, the EC was busy with the coming FP and the Food KIC was starting up. Conclusively this was not a very succesful project

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
