Important results from the project
The projec will support the establishment of a Swedish Center at Shanghai Jiatong University (SJTU). The Center is a joint effort of KTH and SJTU and with the purpose to become a hub for Sino-Swedish collaborations in education, research and innovation, involving universities, companies and public bodies. The Center intends to develop new models for university-industry partnership in a global setting. The Center will promote cooperation between KTH, SJTU and Swedish companies.
Expected long term effects
The Swedish Center @ SJTU has been established as a node for cooperation between KTH, SJTU and swedish corporations based in the greater Shanghai area. The cooperation is highlighted by the capstone projects, formulated by Swedish corporations, where student teams from KTH and SJTU develop solutions to complex challenges.
Approach and implementation
The Swedish Center employed a full time manager, who developed contacts to Swedish corporations and organized events, like the sustainability week. Two swedish corporations became goldmembers early on and supported the center´s acitivy. Full time employe is important to warrnat visibility and continuity.
