The project has contributed to improvement of non-profit boards abillity to take responsibility for a sustainable innovation and renewal work.
Expected long term effects
Scientific studies have resulted in a theoretical foundation on how efficiency, the world around us, organization, board structure and working methods as well as roles and teams are connected to boardwork and innovation in the non-profit sector. The development has strengthened boards capacity for strategic innovation and renewal work in non-profit sector. With the methods for board development that are a result of the project, the project is expected to strengthen other boards´ ability to take responsibility for innovations in the non-profit sector.
Approach and implementation
The project gave a unique opportunity to gain previously lacking empirical knowledge and practical experience of board work and its significance for innovations in the non-profit sector. Despite the fact that the project was carried out according to plan, our experience is that practical research needs an even stronger preparation with participants so that needs and expectations can be met. Costs were lower than budget due to reduced travel & consultants. The analysis thus shows that the approach and design was well-functioning for the development of innovation management.
