Call Civil society´s solutions to climate transition. Innovation and cross-sectorial collaboration to reach the swedish climate goals

Important results from the project

Sustainable Food Systems Härnösand gave us an important chance to gather civil society around existential questions and enjoy the conversations that arose. By inviting a wide and diverse range of people, we have been enriched by a strong diversity of perspectives. And we had fun while doing it. We gathered in 10 workshops, lectures and dinners, transformed 1000 square meters of arable land into magnificent cultivation and reached a total of 300-500 people or 1% of the municipality.

Expected long term effects

The project has led to a desire for more! As well as a company and a network that should be able to deliver that and more. The local relations have been strengthened and those who should consider taking a leading role have been identified and the relations can be developed further. The idea for the potato fund has also been hatched as a continuation and escalation of the #potatoappeal based on the opportunity the project gave to give away free seed potatoes to individuals and groups.

Approach and implementation

The project used a combination of workshops, lectures and activities aimed at civil society to shed some light on some of the underlying predicaments, but above all to meet in a joyful way around common activities that strengthened our food supply and resilience while reducing the municipality´s climate footprint and increasing its positive handprint. These are important first steps taken to create a basis for radical transformation of the municipality´s food supply.
