Important results from the project
There is no efficient and reliable simulation method for prediction of rupture of spot welded structures. The project target is to develop a simulation method to enable early stage evaluation of spot welded joints. This will enable stronger joints and/or reduced number of discrete joints which allows energy and/or material savings. Expedient FE-technique will be developed, implemented and finally verified by simple and built up experiments.
