Important results from the project
The project has aimed to identifying promising, more environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic and rubber products in artificial turfs and to create a strong partnership for developing these alternatives. Two promising alternatives have been identified and will be tested in the following steps. The partnership has been expanded and now consists of a number of interested and relevant actors.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in two promising ideas that will be investigated and tested in the following steps. The partnership formed is broad and has relevant skills and experience to properly develop and evaluate materials that can be used to replace plastic and rubber products in artificial turf.
Approach and implementation
During the project period, meetings, workshops and summaries of experiences have been conducted. Strong cooperation with BEKOGR (Beställargrupp för konstgräs), funded by the Swedish EPA, has resulted in that several activities have been able to be co-ordinated and costs and work efforts have been reduced.
