Venture Accelerate - FFI
Call FFI Accelerate the transition to sustainable road transport - autumn 2024

Purpose and goal

HITS 3 attacks the challenges in the city´s logistics system from a systemic perspective and aims to accelerate the transition towards more efficient and sustainable urban freight transport. The goal is to further develop, implement and scale up solutions in 1) sustainable distribution of goods and return flows, 2) safe and secure loading, and 3) seamless and flexible deliveries with automated unloading, in order to take a step towards a long-term and more permanent system change.

Expected effects and result

The expected results are accepted and implementable solutions for 1) more efficient freight transport, 2) increased safety and security for deliveries and 3) interoperable systems and data management for more effective delivery flows and 4) knowledge and tools on scalability of the solutions for other cities, nationally and internationally. Expected long-term effects are reduced climate impact from freight transport, sustainable business models and an improved working environment for drivers.

Planned approach and implementation

HITS 3 will be carried through in five work packages: WP1 Project leading and communication, WP2 Design for collaborative innovation processes, WP3 Service development and system demonstrations (divided into three blocks), WP4 Area adapted logistics solutions and WP5 System perspective, scalability and dissemination. The project is organized in a way that will promote long-term implementation of the project´s solutions, for participating actors and for society.
