Important results from the project
The objective of the project was to show how projects within the Produktion2030 program was handling, coping with or contributing to sustainability and a CE in society. The project collected and analysed the data from all Produktion2030 projects (ongoing and completed projects from 2013 to mid 2020) considering sustainability and the CE. The results provide a solid ground of how Produktion2030 has contributed with regards to sustainability: Where we stand today and what is needed for the future e.g. in order to cope with upcoming climate laws which are expected to come into place soon.
Expected long term effects
78 responses from 106 questionnaires sent out shows: The manufacturing industry must move to sustainable and resource-efficient business development. All project addressed sustainability aspects in accordance with the triple bottom line and three of the UN´s objective SDGs 8, 9, 12. More than half carried out work that contributed to environmental benefits. To a certain extent, the projects also contributed to a circular economy. Most project needed to make choices between different sustainability aspects. E.g. improved resource efficiency could lead to increased costs.
Approach and implementation
14 questions with some questions broken down further to sub-questions formulated based on literature as well as several iterations within the team to ensure that the questions covered all aspects of the intended objectives of the project. One feedback round to some test projects were done. The questionnaire was then sent to the project managers of the 106 projects, whose details are publicly available on Produktion2030’s website. The project managers could choose to answer the questionnaire via a videoconference call. 2 reminders were used to get 78 respondents.
