Important results from the project

The purpose and goal of the project was to develop and submit two applications to HORIZON CL5, focusing on sustainable recycling of solvents used in battery manufacturing. Through this work, the applications were completed and submitted, with long-term potential to contribute significantly to CO2 emission reductions within the EU. The project’s outcomes established the conditions for implementing these technologies on a larger scale, thereby contributing to the EU´s sustainability objectives.

Expected long term effects

With Vinnova´s support, two comprehensive HORIZON CL5 applications focusing on sustainable solvent recycling in battery manufacturing were submitted. The expected impact includes significant CO2 emission reductions across the EU, aligning with the EU´s sustainability goals. The project encourages a circular economy by reducing reliance on virgin materials and promoting greener industrial practices, thus contributing to a sustainable and resource-efficient battery value chain in Europe.

Approach and implementation

The application process was carried out in several key stages: 1.Initial review of background materials and the development of an overarching implementation plan. 2.Contact and negotiation with potential additional partners, forming the consortium and establishing agreements. 3.Development of a detailed execution plan in collaboration with the entire consortium. 4.Final review and approval of the complete application for submission.
