Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to, in collaboration with bibliometricians at Lund University´s library, carry out bibliometric analyzes within ongoing research project within the MUM platform. However, this was revised during the course of the project as the bibliometricians at LU did not have enough resources to carry out several of the requested analyses. The funding was instead partly used to cover certain salary costs for researchers involved in the project who carried out the analyses.
Expected long term effects
The project has enabled bibliometric analyzes in three projects within the MUM platform. These projects are finished and article writing is in progress. Within one project, we have carried out analyzes of collaborations between industry representatives and researchers in approx. 20,000 articles over a 20-year period. In another project, we have looked at the distribution of roles regarding research tasks between researchers from developing and industrialized countries. In the third project, we have investigated risk-taking in research using bibliometric indicators.
Approach and implementation
Since bibliometric analyzes have been carried out in 3 different projects, different methodologies have been used. In project 1, we have studied collaborations between industry representatives and researchers. We have analyzed the history of previous co-publishing, whether authors have studied/worked at the same institution and how important this is for later collaborations. In project 2, we have used information about who has done what in joint publications between developing and industrialized countries. In project 3, we have developed indicators that analyze risk-taking.
