Purpose and goal
Within the SCALE-IT project, Atlantic Quantum will develop microchip integration and interfacing technology for superconducting quantum processors and collaborate with Quantum Machines on cryogenic packaging enabling microwave signal input/output connections at scale.
Expected effects and result
The project aims to solve the challenging input/output problem for superconducting quantum processors, requiring a large number of high-quality interconnects and signal transmission channels between the quantum hardware at millikelvin cryogenic temperature and electronics placed at higher-temperature stages and at room temperature. This technology is necessary for the partners’ internal development and will also be marketed as a product filling a supply-chain need.
Planned approach and implementation
The core of the work within the project is technical, where each partner develops their part, straddled by an initial joint phase focused on specifications and interfaces and an integration and validation phase. One parallel work stream is focused on identifying IP for each party, to expand sales networks, and to develop supply chains.
