Important results from the project
The travel grant was used to pay for the registration fee for the STS forum, flights to and from Osaka, and a hotel in Kyoto, Japan.
Expected long term effects
The STS Forum served as a platform for dialogue between leaders in universities, industry, and government policy making. I had the opportunity to meet several university vice-chancellors, CEOs, Nobel Laureates, and young researchers like myself from around the world.
Approach and implementation
The topics that were discussed were of high relevance to society such as climate change, renewable energy, robotics and artificial intelligence, etc. Tackling such issues efficiently requires coordination between policy makers, academia, and industry. The meeting served as a reminder in the importance of research that is relevant to society´s needs.
