Important results from the project

The project has developed and evaluated an AI/ML model for stroke prevention. The project has strengthened the hypothesis that it is possible to develop an algorithm with aim to reduce the risk of stroke, as well as to commercialize the result. The clinical verification, which takes place in a prospective, randomized clinical study with approximately 2,000 individuals, will be completed by the end of 2025.

Expected long term effects

The project´s objective is to develop and lay the foundation for commercializing an AI/ML algorithm for stroke prevention. This solution will have a major impact on public health, as well as give Swedish medical technology companies a stronger position in the international market.

Approach and implementation

The project developed an AI/ML algorithm, partly based on previous algorithms developed in another Vinnova-funded project. The algorithm is being validated in a large prospective, randomized clinical trial. Preparations for commercialization have been made taking into account the regulatory framework.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
