Important results from the project

In the Stadslabbet project, Helsingborgs municipality together with Utopia Arkitekter, has developed a new way for the municipality to work in dialogue and co-creation form. Results is a process and an app where citizens and officials in an AR-based 3D environment can collaborate in dialogue and concrete co-creation of both future and ongoing urban development projects. The app and process will provide better ways for citizens and other stakeholders to contribute in a concrete way to the urban development process, which in turn will generate better results.

Expected long term effects

Projektet Stadslabbet has resulted in a fully functional prototype for an AR-based app for dialogue and co-creation. The app will be used in the dialogue and co-creation process for Drottninghögs Torg that has been part of the project. The actual dialogue and co-creation project will take place during the summer of 2022. There is great interest in the app from different types of actors. Not least from municipalities and investors who are interested in using the app in their project or investing in the company created to drive the project´s continued development and commercialization.

Approach and implementation

The project has had challenges in terms of both competence and the initially intended implementation. Concrete challenges have been partly about project partners´ ability to provide relevant competence but also the opportunity to carry out evaluations and workshops as planned, not least due to pandemic challenges regarding physical meetings. Despite this, the project has kept pace with the original time plan and not least delivered on or beyond the objectives set up before the work began.
