Important results from the project

The goals we set from the beginning have been met. We have increased the understanding of consumers´ decision-making process and factors that influence their choices, a central outcome goal for the project. This has provided valuable insights for future policies. We have also strengthened the collaboration with existing partners and made new contacts, which creates a basis for future collaborations. We highlighted knowledge gaps and the importance of continued research in these areas.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to create a deeper understanding of how sustainability goals can be achieved by influencing consumer and business behaviour. It contributes to developing future strategies and tools for a circular economy and socially sustainable transition. The long-term effects include better adapted policies, strengthened collaborations between actors and a clearer direction for research in sustainable consumption and production.

Approach and implementation

The project began with a mapping of decision-making processes and a literature study on how information can influence sustainable choices. A survey was then developed to investigate the role of sustainability in consumer electronics purchases, followed by an analysis of the results. We also compiled an overview of the policy situation and discussed the issues with experts from various industries. The activities, schedule and collaboration worked as planned without unexpected problems.
