Important results from the project

In Sopact‘s learning process on need-driven support for social innovators, it has been essential to explore methods, processes and business opportunities in common learning processes and test environments to see if our outcomes and insights, in the long run, can contribute to a stronger innovation support for the social innovator as well as actors in the public sector.

Expected long term effects

Insights, thoughts, tips and concrete tools are described in our report; Patience, courage, perspective & downspouts. The report is available to download at Lund University´s research portal: https://portal.research.lu.se/portal/files/91459057/RRSW_2021_1.pdf In total 16 tools (methods, processes and models) are available for download at www.sopact.org The actors in the city of Helsingborg who have been involved in the process now look at social innovation in a new way. They understand the power of a social innovator and the needs of new perspectives and insights.

Approach and implementation

The learning process was carried out in four iterative phases: 1) Identify needs: Recruitment of social innovators 2) Test environments: Business development 3) Konceptutveckling: Pilot, prototype, beta version 4) Implementation and evaluation Organizationally, we worked with a steering group where the strategic decisions were made and a needs owner group that worked continuously with the recruited social innovators. Sopact acted as an intermediary and supported the needs owner group and the innovators in both their joint and individual work.
