Important results from the project
The main goal for SooGREEN has been to reduce energy consumption in wireless mobile networks by optimize them based on services. This is a step forward from considering the separate equipments only. Video transfer and Internet-of-Things are examples of such services. SooGREEN and in particular the Swedish team have deleievred according to the original plan.
Expected long term effects
Visible results from SooGREEN are and will be lower power comsumption and operational costs for parts of the telecom networks. The Swedish contributions will increase motivation and number of skilled staff in the area, reduce electrical consumption in Tele2´s mobile network, and save energy in indoor systems starting with road and train tunnels.
Approach and implementation
The project was executed 2016-2018 and co-ordinated by KTH with 3 Swedish industrial partners, Tele2 and the SME´s Flexenclosure and MIC Nordic. The project results have been delivered in the form of internal and external reports, prototype equipment and demonstrations. The work has resulted in establish contacts with French, Protugese and one Turkish organisation.
