Important results from the project

The objective of this project is to investigate sustainable electrode manufacturing technologies which could reduce the processing cost and energy consumption and make battery manufacturing circular.

Expected long term effects

Based on the investigation and also the preliminary result, one publication is under preparation. We have monthly meeting to update to all of the involved partners. In addition, we also visited the partners and exchanged the samples. In addition, beside the industrial partners, we also organized meeting and workshop with the involvement of other sectors. We also give the presentation to the workshop organized by Production 2030. Regarding the education, as planned, we have developed a new Master level course in the related topic- Battery Materials and manufacturing.

Approach and implementation

This is a half year project, except for investigating the field and new technologies, we also did some test based on our development. We have experience in battery fabrication and electrode materials modification. Beside wet coating, we also investigated the dry coating which doesn’t need any solvent. The coated electrode prepared by both wet and dry coating was used to make the battery cells for the further performance evaluation. Valuable preliminary result has been obtained based on the test.
