Important results from the project
Almost all goals were fulfilled and the general idea to develop a roof integrated PV system replacing the outermost layer of the roof was successful. There is now a complete product and sales have started.
Expected long term effects
A complete integrated PV system has been developed based on Solibros standard product SL2. Aluminum profiles, plastic guides and plastic details are available and can easily be manufactured. A prototype has been built as a reference and the systems water proof capability has been certified. Our opinion is that we have an almost unique product that has been received well by the market. It has been presented for Swedens largest consulting companies Sweco and WSP and also for Statens fastighetsverk owning properties in Sweden and abroad.
Approach and implementation
Progress has followed the plan. Aluminum profiles and plastic guides were developed together with the suppliers. A small prototype was built at the facility in Uppsala. Some modifications were made and a 35 kW prototype was built in Knivsta. In parallel a small system was built and shipped to Germany for certification at TUV. Finally data from the prototype in Knivsta has been analyzed to compute possible overtemperature and possible consequences.
