Solar heating retrofitting - a test project

Important results from the project

The purpose to commercialize the innovation is to a large extent fulfilled. A number of systems have been installed. It is however still a bit too early to evaluate how successful the company will be long-term. The company has during some time now had discussions with large heating actors about cooperation within manufacturing, distribution and sales of the product. No deal has been signed yet though, so it is too early to draw any conclusion.

Expected long term effects

The result from the project is very good since we have received answers to the questions that the project should answer. Technology-wise the product is yet again verified that it works according to our expectations and the theoretical calculations earlier made. We have gained experience from installations and we have a plan for the continuing commercialization which are being implemented right now. We are cooperating with installers and we have gained understanding about the legal requirements and regulations which are relevant.

Approach and implementation

The execution of the project has to a very large extent followed the project plan. Some time-adjustments have been necessary but nothing that had an adverse impact on the project as a whole. It has been desirable to work with even more installers to gain a broader base from which conclusions can be drawn. It was however difficult to find installers with the right competence who was available, since they are scarce.
