Important results from the project

The work via the production arenas Compraser Labs and PTC with staff from RISE has contributed with test bed resources along with piloting new SMEs into the innovation system. This is done by identifying, mobilizing and supporting SMEs and promoting their opportunities to participate in R&D project. One SMF Flyg-call was carried out in the autumn of 2021, where a total of 6 project applications were submitted. Furthermore, project discussions are ongoing with continued support from the production arenas, ahead of future applications - both within SMF Flyg but also to other calls.

Expected long term effects

For the autumn call, a total of 4 projects were granted by the SMF Flyg program, of which 3 level 2 projects and 1 level 3 project. Of the total of 9 SMEs that submitted or participated in applications for the call, 4 of these had not applied to the SMF Flyg call before. At the same time, at least three SMEs that have previously received support from SMF Flyg have taken the step of applying for major research and development projects within the LIGHTer program.

Approach and implementation

The work has involved e.g. innovation-promoting and strategic communication to potential SME project participants, documentation and administrative work as well as helping SMEs formulate project proposals and support in the application work. Within the project, a call for proposal was carried out for SMF Flyg call in the autumn of 2021. This included, marketing, advertising of the announcements, administration and contact with Innovair´s authority group as well as contact with SMEs, OEMs and research actors. An increased collaboration with the cluster ACS has been initiated.
