Important results from the project

The aim of SmartBed Blekinge was to investigate the preconditions for an innovative testbed for the testing of technical solutions, business models and legal framework in energy storage with a holistic perspective in the whole value chain. After external monitoring and analysis of needs we still see requirements to do tests with a broad perspective in energy storage, thus a continuation of the project is applied for.

Expected long term effects

From results in the need analysis and three possible models for the testbed, the project team jointly agreed in a circular model for the testprocess. The model, taking a holistic approach, will gradually build knowledge, competence and experience in the area of energy storage. The testbed will meet requirements such as access to methods of project- and processmanagement, administration, a platform for knowledge within energy storage, possibilities for cooperation and networking and help to find funding, with small scale orientation.

Approach and implementation

Part 1: External monitoring of ongoing projects, pilots and testbeds foremost in Sweden, and need analysis in the form of in-depth interviews with project partners and other external key players. Part 2: Presentation of threes possible models of a future testbed for the project team. In a conducted workshop, we jointly created the circular model for the testprocess in SmartBed. It is both important and complex to clarify expectations of efforts and roles of project members in this early stage.
