Venture The strategic innovation programme Electronic Components and Systems:
Call Electronic Components and Systems. Research and innovation feasibility studies 2018.

Important results from the project

A simple proof of concept has been successfully developed. The technical basis for the concept have been investigated and looks very promising. Further work in several fields remain to be carried out; possible integration into textiles, helmets, other traffic signage or similar. Topics to be addressed further are also miniaturisation, scalability in production, value chain modelling and commercial relevance for ip owners and producers of reflex materials.

Expected long term effects

This prestudy shows a clear technical proof of concept for a novel idea. In that regard, the results are very promising but we still lack a clear view on how to take the results further. Possible topics to address are miniaturisation, integration into several prototypes, modelling of a realistic value chain and also getting market feedback based on those more realistic prototypes, including a verification of the cost/price/performance-ratios.

Approach and implementation

This project was conducted primarily in April/May 2019 and the technical developments have been highly successful. The project was rushed through at a late stage due to a very high workload on the RISE side. The ambition was initially to aim for a larger research call application in March 2019, but eventually that had to be abandoned.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
