Important results from the project

Integrating AI and IoT in the property management of Bohusskolan to reduce energy consumption and enhance sustainability. The installation of sensors and implementation of AI-based control showed clear signs of more efficient energy use, improved indoor climate, and heightened environmental awareness. The project also provided students and teachers with practical tools for sustainability education and engagement, offering potential contributions to the community´s long-term sustainability goals.

Expected long term effects

Visible effects were observed in energy optimization and sustainability awareness, but require a longer period in the colder season for proper summarization. The AI and IoT solutions led to reduced energy consumption, clear indoor climate data, potential cost savings, and reduced environmental impact of Bohusskolan. Students and teachers were engaged in sustainability issues through practical and interactive tools. The reception indicates the potential for implem similar techn in other municipal buildings, supporting the goal of a more sustainable future for Ale Municipality

Approach and implementation

Sensor, AI, and platform integration initially faced challenges. The process highlighted the importance of deeply understanding the building´s technical conditions. Through active and excellent collaboration, adaptations were made. The project garnered high engagement from educational operations and management. Students participated in competitions, and information about the project spread in the media. Partners are positive about scaling up parts or the entire solution, as it has shown potential to achieve desired effects.
