Important results from the project
Smart Care, aims to match challenges with an increasing share of elderly in society, with the potential of digitization to enhance the individual´s ability to increase independence and effective services through collaboration between housing companies and municipalities. The solution is based on incrementally increased services over shared technology and business model. The collaboration and the business model is realistically feasible, but requires that the technology is in place first financed by other purposes such as energy efficiency in order to be commercially viable.
Expected long term effects
The project has shown that digital collaboration between housing companies and care management within municipality is both desirable and possible to meet the individual´s needs for social development while meeting legal and economic conditions. The project´s staircase model for collaboration is generic and can be spread both in Sweden and nationally. Collaboration requires that both housing and care organizations have the ability to deliver digital services, supported by commercial actors, which will take some time to build.
Approach and implementation
The project group consisted of three roles, housing company, care management and providers of technical solutions. Problems, purposes and goals were relatively easy to describe, while how collaboration could be done practically or a common business model could work out was an educational challenge. The project invested a lot of resources in visualizing of solutions and methods such as building a demo facility or visual descriptions, see, Annex; Project Description Smart Care. Visual descriptions create a common language that is understood by different roles and competences.
