Important results from the project

The current project is part of the project "Smart City Concepts", which demonstrated two bus models and examined the conditions for electrifying bus services in Curitiba. During this subproject, the partners discussed the prerequisites for continued cooperation. Previous results have been made visible to reinforce the links with the city administration and identify potential new partners. Discussions were held to define the next project direction in line with changes in city administration and interest among stakeholders.

Expected long term effects

The project team agrees to focus the next phase on sustainable mobility in urban transport for people and goods and explore technology shifts, data analysis and digitization to promote low carbon emissions. The team has discussed the cooperation with FINEP in Brazil and VINNOVA in Sweden. The team will anchor the proposal with the goals set by both VINNOVA and FINEP.

Approach and implementation

Several meetings have taken place in 2018. There is clear interest in continuing the cooperation. The project group has identified the focus for the next phase. The next step is a seminar and meeting with funding organizations in November 2018 during the Swedish Innovation Week in Brazil. There are good conditions for continued cooperation. The "Smart City Concepts" project created a successful triple-helix format collaboration for bilateral cooperation between Sweden and Brazil. Now, cooperation is in a new phase and builds upon established trust among all partners.
