Purpose and goal
SCARCE aims to test and demonstrate new interference-free vehicle radar in real-world environments, with the goal of validating the technology and increasing the TRL level prior to commercialization. The project seeks to enhance the competitiveness of Swedish radar technology in the transition to advanced digitalization of previously analog electronics, which plays a critical role in designing future sensor and communication systems.
Expected effects and result
Successful test results provide strong evidence of the technology´s functionality, facilitate faster market breakthroughs, and support Sweden´s advancement in safe and advanced vehicle systems. With a successful project outcome, the new radar technology is well-positioned to secure a place in the globally expanding radar market, contributing to the continued development of the automotive industry.
Planned approach and implementation
The tests are conducted both on test tracks and in real traffic environments. The project partners Radar Reticence, NIRA Dynamics, and Halmstad University collaborate as a unified platform, leveraging their expertise and experience to strengthen Sweden´s competitiveness in digital radar technology.
