Important results from the project

The aim and objectives of the project were to reach out to SMFs, Encourage SMEs to participate in STRIM, identify potential partners for SMEs and identify ideas that can contribute to the FoI agendas objectives. All objectives were fully met. The goal of identifying and highlighting ideas within small businesses that have the opportunity to be commercialized in later stages, and to offer a meeting place and networking between SMEs, larger companies and academy was met. SIP STRIMS´s network was broadened and expanded with several SMEs.

Expected long term effects

The result is more SMEs involved in SIP STRIM´s activities and increased collaboration between academia, large companies and SMEs. In addition, the competition helped to bring ideas one step closer to innovations to the market.

Approach and implementation

The event started with information on opportunities within SIP STRIM and EITRaw Materials. Information was provided on calls, partnerships, activities & other opportunities for support for, in particular, SMEs. Companies up to 250 people have the right to participate in the idea competition. 8 Selected ideas were pitched to a jury with industry representatives who selected 1 winner. The setup works well, and the idea contest was of intereset fo many participants and also attracted a large audience.
