Important results from the project
Sw edish mining industry has a strong position in EU and the rest of the w orld w hen it comes to safety, environment, technology and innovations. Now that EU COM has launched a call (H2020-SC5-2016-Tw oStage) for project proposals to demonstrate/pilot safe and sustainable technology in this area Sw edish mining industry has the intention to take a leading role and initiate a EU project called SIMS (Sustainable Intelligent Mining System) under Swedish coordination, Atlas Copco, w ith a strong Sw edish partnership, LKAB, Boliden, Ericsson, ABB and more. Approach and implementation
A 2-stage proposal, was first submitted for stage 1 on March 8 and on May 17 the SIMS partnership got EU COM approval to submit a stage 2 application. The work to prepare the stage 2 application took place during April to September including a workshop for all SIMS partners. A writing team, an expert team and consortia team was formed contributing both with input and review of application. The SIMS application was submitted on September 6 and the SIMS pilot application (Strategiska STRIM projektet) ended by end of September 2016.
