Project duration November 2016 - March 2019
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to increase legal security for children and parents through faster and more correct handling and to streamline the handling process. The digital information exchange provides a significantly shorter processing time and a modern way of working compared to when the information was sent analogously and handled manually. This means that legal security increases. The confirming parent also receives his or her parental allowance faster.

Expected long term effects

Vetlanda, Gotland and Malmö uses the service with positive results. The interest in connecting is great among municipalities. One effect is that the municipalities have streamlined working methods and processes. They have also realized the possibility of streamlining the activities with digitization in other areas. The Swedish Tax Agency reduces the time to handle cases that can lead to reallocation of 1-2 full-time employees at full access. SKL establishes a service focusing on member support.

Approach and implementation

The project´s working method in which we have worked with a digital process in the short term and pushed a policy change in the long term has been successful. The project has been a good locomotive for modernizing the family law´s working methods. However, collaboration between many parties and thus many dependencies is complicated. Despite shifts in the timetable and resource changes, the project has worked well thanks to the fact that all parties have maintained their commitment to the project.
