Important results from the project

Test environment Simgården has been established, including three simulator centers with more than 30 simulators, and a mobile learning environment. Tests, evaluations and development of new digital tools and teaching methods take place in the test environment in collaboration with researchers. The simulator centers also form as demonstration facilities, where experience and knowledge about teaching methods and new technologies are spread. The mobile learning environment is used at fairs and events to reach our stakeholders, i.e. Roadshow Simgården.

Expected long term effects

Results from tests and evaluations are being used to develop requirement specifications in procurements. By this, new technology is adapted to needs and conditions of the school system. Pedagogy, security and management of integrity are being considered. Test environment Simgården clarifies and communicates the needs to leading companies in the simulator industry. At the three simulator centers, students achieve skills that correspond to the needs of the labor market and make them attractive to employ.

Approach and implementation

The test environment is led by the project partners. The everyday business is to test, evaluate, develop and improve digital tools and methods used in simulator-based teaching. The test environment is integrated into teaching, ie teachers and students are involved. External partners assist with skills and networks in the areas of simulation technology, precision cultivation, road safety, disability and learning difficulties. The test environment has strengthened the external interactions, and a lot of interested people are engaged in the development process of Simgården.
