Purpose and goal
The project SHIP4INDIA will involve the development, construction, integration, monitoring and performance evaluation of the concentrated solar collectors; T160 and T200 to accelerate the market uptake of solar heating in industrial processes. A big step towards this objective will be demonstrating the market ready T160 in the Chemical industry with Rallis India, Gujarat, India by installing a solar field of 660m2. The T200 collector which covers a wide range of temperatures in the industrial processes will be piloted at a small field of 44m2 in the facilities of SSP Private Limited,
Expected effects and result
There will be a knowledge transfer of the technical design and integration of the solar thermal field enabling Climatenza to design future thermal solar fields for the indian market as the market uptakes. It will also enable Absolicon to better understand the solar thermal market and thermal processes in the Indian industry. After project completion, the aim is to build a production line of solar collectors in India which can provide solar fields creating jobs in the renewables industry and decreasing the climate impact in transportation
Planned approach and implementation
WP1) Assessment and analysis of Indian context (M1-M6) WP2) Demonstration of solar field at TATA chemicals using T160 (M1-M18) WP3) Pilot demonstration of solar field at SSP Private Limited using T200 (M1-M16) WP4) Technical, socio-economic & environmental assessment (M7-M16) WP5) Regulatory framework, exploitation, scalability (M1-M24) WP6) Dissemination and communication (M2-M24) WP7) Management and coordination (M1-M24)
