Status Ongoing

Call Transport and mobility services - FFI – autumn 2024

Purpose and goal

The project builds on Svensk Handel and ASTER´s “Industry Agreement for Fossil-Free Deliveries (BÖ)”, an initiative within the e-commerce industry, which already includes around 20 actors. The agreement was created to address the problem of misleading environmental terms used for e-commerce deliveries to consumers. The goal is to accelerate sustainable transport solutions within e-commerce through large-scale application of BÖ, within Sweden and the EU.

Expected effects and result

To accelerate sustainable transport solutions in e-commerce, SHIFT will: 1. Digital guide on green concepts in e-commerce deliveries 2. Spread knowledge about the work with the industry agreement in the Nordics and within the EU 3. Train and engage at least 100 traders and transporters around the industry agreement and green concepts 4. Train and engage at least 1000 consumers around the concept of Fossil-free delivery 5. More traders and transporters sign the BÖ, from 20 to at least 100

Planned approach and implementation

SHIFT is divided into 5 work packages: WP1 Project Management and Communication, WP2 Guidelines for Implementing the Industry Agreement, WP3 Conditions for Development and Harmonization, WP4 Management, WP5 Scaling and Dissemination. SHIFT will engage partners throughout the value chain through e.g workshops, interviews, and roundtables. The work includes educational efforts towards consumers, monitoring of regulations, and strategic meetings with, among others, EU stakeholders.
