Important results from the project
Decode has reached further than expected time plan, this by participating in developing the forum Citylab Action. 12 urban development projects work, as of Jan 2016, according to a pilot version of Citylab Action led by SGBC. Decode has developed the part process steering regarding the planning phase. Decode has also established close collaborations with an extended group of actors. Primarily through Decode´s goal to map how organisation and collaboration look like within and between municipal divisions regarding distribution of power and citizen engagement in urban planning.
Expected long term effects
The main achievement has been the development of Citylab, which is expected to contribute to following effects Sustainability steering: municipalities and private actors develop sustainable cities at the same time as the process is efficient and inclusive Organisational system: an organisational culture aiming for reaching and including innovative services Service development: services which support cross-sectoral collaboration Social inclusion: citizens´ interests are handled systematic and constructive through solution oriented dialogues See attached web links
Approach and implementation
Decodes´ project activities are arranged in 6 themes. The central work concerned Theme 1 development of Citylab Action, led by SGBC. All project activities in the remaining five themes have contributed to the development - to Citylab, and independent through their parallel development, application and communication in collaboration with respectively work package´s partners. Themes 2-6 was as following: 2 Municipalities´ process steering; 3 Public participation; 4 Social sustainability; 5 Power; 6 Co-Design.
