Purpose and goal
The purpose of the center is to tackle three major challenges: Global climate change, stability and social security, and the competitiveness of Sweden´s system building industry. The activities in the center will be concentrated in two focus areas, named Zero carbon emission and resilient transportation systems and Societal security and environmental monitoring, which match both the challenges and the activities of the participating companies.
Expected effects and result
The center´s three keywords are "people, processes, and products", where people refers to the center being involved in training people, both at Master and doctoral level, with the skills needed to take on the challenges that the center wants to contribute to to handle. Processes and products refer to results that emerge in research activities that contribute to both the product development process and the products to make them more efficient, get better performance, etc.
Planned approach and implementation
The center will be an arena where Swedish system-building industries from different areas can meet and exchange experiences and discuss common challenges and issues. The core of the center´s activities will be research projects where the companies´ long-term challenges meet the scientific competence of the academic parties to create knowledge of high scientific quality and of importance for the companies´ long-term competitiveness. Furthermore, the center will arrange workshops and courses around the center´s core competencies and related areas.
