Important results from the project
The purpose of the project has been to strengthen the possibilities of effective selfcare for people with chronic diseases by creating an IT system for selfcare. A group of people with Parkinson´s disease were also going to test the system. Both purpose and objectives have been met and surpassed. The users´ survey demonstrates that the users consider the system easy to understand and use, lead to interesting insights and can help improve communication with the neurologist.
Expected long term effects
The project has been successful in relation to results and expected effects. A first version of an IT system for selfcare including 2 iOS apps was created and users have also tested the system. The large interest for the innovative approach to selfcare as well as the developed apps resulted in opportunities to present the project at a large number of meetings and conferences, both in Sweden and internationally. This has also lead to interesting contacts as well as new projects.
Approach and implementation
The planned approach for the project was used with minor adjustments. During the project there was changes in staffing leading to minor adjustments in the planning. These adjustments did however not result in any significant problems for the project.
